Welcome to my digital portfolio! I created this site for WRTC 624: Public Works of Rhetoric. Here, you will find all of the projects I completed for the course as well as an explanation of how my topic relates to course materials.

What's campus food insecurity?

The first project I completed was a multimodal presentation on campus food insecurity. I researched the topic extensively to learn what the literature said about hunger among college students, and I explained the ways stigma affects those who experience food insecurity.

JMU Investigation

In order to learn more about food insecurity at JMU, I conducted a series of interviews with faculty, students, and administrators from different areas of campus.  I wanted to get a sense of what was being done at JMU to address food insecurity, as well as identify student support advocates who would be interested in working towards change. You can listen to excerpts from those interviews in the StoryMap on this page.

Survey & Infographics

For the final project, I created an IRB-approved study, analyzed survey data, and created infographics explaining my findings. Ultimately, it is my hope that these will be distributed on campus to combat food insecurity stigma and to encourage JMU community members to join in the fight to end student hunger.
